Pashminas
The Pashmina – THE TRUTH!
There is a great deal of misunderstanding about the most famous fashion accessory in the world. Pashmina, or ‘Pash’ as it is affectionately known, originated in Nepal and Northern India, handcrafted in the shadow of the Himalayan mountains from a blend of Cashmere and Silk. The word ‘Pashmina’ means ‘luxury from the mountains’ (Pash- luxury, Mina- mountain) and it is said that the Pashminas incredible softness is due to it being washed in the waters that flow freely off the mountains as rivers of melted snow, reputed to be the purest of all waters.
So Pashmina is not a fibre but a garment in it’s own right; some will claim their goods to be ‘100% Pashmina’ – these are obviously fake, as it is like claiming a scarf is made of 100% scarf!
The Pashmina is truly an amazing product; it is - in a word - Magical!
