Wraps

The Wrap, or Shawl as it used to be known, has had an amazing and varied history; a tool of temptation as when Salome danced for the head of John the Baptist, to the cape of the Matador or Magicians Chiffons, that defy death and credulity.

The Wrap originated in the East, and has enthralled Europeans since the beginning of time. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the mystery and obvious opulence of the Wrap were a ‘must have’ in polite society; The Empress Josephine owned over three hundred Cashmere Wraps, worth the contemporary equivalent of millions! Her husband, The Emperor Napoleon, took to throwing them on the fire, annoyed at how much of her body the Cashmere concealed.

Western women everywhere have now seized on the Wraps genius and it has become a flag of movement, has acquired as many faces as femininity itself and is worn by each person in a different way.
